. Desde entonces han pasado
años y cosas. [-]

It is Europe continent of many things, and, mainly, of itself, because
of itself has sprouted, forced by the historical tragedy of its practice and almost total
annihilation six decades ago, in 1945. To be born as a political reality, Europe
He has had to strive to achieve his begetting, his gestation and difficult delivery,
its advent in the light of a present, first, of a future, later4
,
always under suspicion of desire for hegemony, destructive compulsion, decrepitude
Innate, on the part of those who saw it and still look with contempt, greed and commiseration.
Was it an animal of those that in their own nature carry
inscribed his self-destruction? As if under the aegis of Athena Parthénos
unwrapped its strenuous work of chrysalis, the European genesis has been parthenogenetic,
that is, with the sole contest of itself5
, working to break through
in front of her own children-born before herself-who stared at her in astonishment
and skeptics, and in front of the rest of the world, astonished and reticent before its imminent
hatching. All this has happened since 1950, due to the institutional milestones of
functional cut as the proposed creation of the ECSC by Robert Schuman, or
also since 1948, if one prefers to consider facts of ideological significance
more obvious as the «Congress of Europe» in The Hague6
. Since then they have passed
years and things. [-]
