La elevación de las temperaturas en el norte de la Comundiad Valenciana: valor y naturaleza (1950-2016)

Abstract

Este estudio trata de evaluar rigurosamente la magnitud del calentamiento climático en la Comunidad Valenciana. Magnitud que constituye el eje científco básico del trascendente proceso de Cambio Climático. La investigación se ha basado en los registros de la red regional de AEMET (Agencia Estatal de Meteorología) de 10 observatorios, con series de más de 67 años, que abarcan el período 1950-2016 en la Comunidad Valenciana (23.255 km²). El UHI (índice de calor urbano) fue determinado experimentalmente y las interacciones aire-mar registradas en la plataforma marina y en el observatorio de las Islas Columbretes también han sido utilizadas en el estudio. Un análisis regional que ha evidenciado la magnitud del calentamiento y mostrado algunas correlaciones físicas sobre las causas de este aumento de temperatura. En este sentido, la contribución de la radiación solar al forzamiento térmico, al menos regionalmente, puede ser algo mayor que el 10% reconocido en el Quinto Informe del IPCC (Grupo Intergubernamental sobre el Cambio Climático).

The objective of this study is to try and get a better understanding of the magnitude of the effects of global warming in the Valencia region of Spain. The magnitude of this is the basic scientifc theme that lies at the heart of the great environmental issue of climate change. The study was based on records of the AEMET (State Meteorological Agency) regional network of 10 observatories, with series dating back more than 67 years, covering the period 1950–2016 in the Valencia region (23,255 km²). The UHI (Urban Heat Index) was experimentally determined and the air–sea interactions recorded on the sea platform and Columbretes Island observatories were also used in the study. The regional analysis revealed the magnitude of the regional effects of global warming and it highlighted some physical correlations related to the causes of this rise in temperature. In this regard, the contribution of solar radiation to thermal forcing, at least regionally, could be slightly higher than the 10% acknowledged in the Fifth Assessment Report from the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)
