Comunitat Valenciana: ¿ plató de cine?

Abstract

Las film office o film commission son, traducido literalmente, oficinas de rodaje. Organismos públicos, o semi-públicos, sin ánimo de lucro cuya labor consiste en ayudar a las productoras de cine y televisión a encontrar los lugares idóneos para el rodaje de sus productos audiovisuales, así como potenciar el turismo cinematográfico, término que se refiere al turismo generado por el visionado de un film o de una serie de televisión, en la región donde éstos han sido rodados. En la Comunitat Valenciana existen tres grandes oficinas de rodaje –por cantidad de trabajo, no por tamaño–, en las que una sola persona se encarga de llevar a cabo todas esas tareas. Este es un reconocimiento al trabajo de las film office de Benidorm, Peñíscola y Valencia, y un análisis de su entorno. Asociaciones, productoras y servicios de localizaciones que ayudan a que la Comunitat Valenciana siga siendo un ‘Plató de cine’.

Film offices or film commissions are, literally, the offices that help films to be made. Are public –or semi-public– services, nonprofit organizations whose labour consists on helping film or television producers to find the perfect location for filming their productions and, additionally, seek to enhance the film-induced tourism. In other words, they also work to attract people to the locations in which their favourite movies and tv shows have been filmed. In the Autonomous Community of Valencia there are three big film offices in which all the work is done by only one person at each of them. This is meant to be an appreciation of the work that the film offices of Benidorm, Peñíscola and Valencia undertake, and an analysis of the services that revolve around them, such as associations, production companies and location services, all of which contribute to keep turning the Autonomous Community of Valencia into a ‘film set’.
