In this paper the effect of recent immigration on the Spanish labor market has been
studied. Specifically, with the data used by the EPA from the time period between 2009
and 2016, the effect that immigration has had on the level of employment of native
workers has been measured, with the aim of obtaining some conclusions about a
subject that has had great importance both in Spain and around the world in recent
years. Once the necessary calculations have been made, it has been found that,
overall, as in most existing literature, immigration does not negatively affect the
employment level of the total native population, although concrete effects of interest
have been obtained according to the origin and gender of the immigrants, and
according to the gender of the Spaniards, which can be read below. [-]
