Within the whole of the financial sector, a very important part of this is represented by mutual investment funds. Despite their importance and the high volume of transactions carried out through these financial instruments, the vast majority of investors are not aware of the potential of these financial assets.
This paper seeks to shed light on these issues, to examine the advantages, typologies and importance of mutual funds in the financial sector and, above all, to study the importance of the different ratios used to analyse these funds.
With this finality, 5 mutual funds from three different categories have been analysed numerically, and two funds have been chosen from each category. The selection was made based on both risky and moderate investment profiles.
For the risky profile the Equity, Fixed Income and Mixed funds selected are Bankia Bolsa Española, BBVA Bonos Euskofondos and Bankinter Mixto Flexible respectively. As for the moderate investor the funds chosen for the same categories are BMN Bolsa Española, BNP Paribas Euro and Bestinvert Mixto. [-]
