dc.description.abstract | The Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory by Gray (RST) (1981,1982, 1987) establishes three neurobiological subsystems which act to regulate behavior. Torrubia, Ávila, Moltó and Caseras (2001) developed the Sensitivity to Punishment and Sensitivity to Reward Questionnaire (SPSRQ) with the aim to obtain an instrument which was capable of assessing these subsystems by means of two subscales, Sensitivity to Punishment and Sensitivity to Reward (SR). However several of the items which comprise this SR scale are considered to be obsolete and there is a necessity to carry out its update. This study aims to update the SR scale of the SPSRQ, and for this purpose, 24 new items shall be written. The analysis performed with the IBM Statistics SPSS computer program (version 22) showed a Cronbach alpha for the new SR scale of .81. The validity of the construct obtained through an exploratory factor analysis evidenced 3 factors, adapted to the Gray model (1981,1982, 1987). We detected very high positive and statistically significant correlations between the SR factors as well as with the original SPSRQ scale. In relation to the convergent validity, we found statistically significant correlations with other scales which measure the same constructs. Consequently, an improved and updated version of the SR scale has been developed | ca_CA |
