dc.description.abstract | The ceramic sector is one of three more important sectors of Spain. In 2015, according data of “Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Azulejos y Pavimentos Cerámicos” (ASCER), the sales have reached around 3075 milions of euros. About 94% of the national production comes from the province of Castellón. The ceramic pigments are an important part in the industry, as they are employed for paints, plastics, ceramic products and enamels. The investigation of ceramic pigments is focuses in the search of new colours or the improvement of the existing ones in terms of chemical, mechanical, thermal stability and optical properties. Ceramic pigments are complex oxides structures that are colored mostly by the existence of transition metal o f-f element as a cromophore in ir crystal lattice. They are mixed with glazed in a specific portion and further calcined at high temperatures. The objective of the present report is to look for a crystal lattice that are able to host different cromophres and thus to develop colored pallet. | ca_CA |
