Lactancia materna: Intervención educativa para las escuelas

Abstract

Objetivos: Diseñar un taller educativo dirigido a niños de educación primaria de segundo ciclo (3º y 4º curso) sobre lactancia materna y evaluar su efectividad en la adquisición de conocimientos. Metodología: Estudio cuasi-experimental antes-después, en niños de 3º y 4º de primaria de Castellón. Muestreo por conveniencia. El instrumento de medida fue un cuestionario ad-hoc de 12 preguntas con 4 ítems. Validación de contenido por grupo nominal. Se analizaron las variables sociodemográficas y variables respuesta con estadística descriptiva y se aplicó la estadística inferencial univariante y bivariante para conocer la significancia del estudio. Resultados: La muestra del pre-intervención fueron 44 alumnos. El 86,36% (n=38) habían recibido lactancia materna. La nota media sobre 10 del cuestionario pre intervención fue un 5,06. Para la post-intervención hubo 2 perdidas: 42 alumnos. La nota media sobre 10 del cuestionario post intervención fue un 8,27. Todas las preguntas del cuestionario resultaron ser estadísticamente significativas en cuanto al porcentaje de aciertos en los dos grupos apareados, siendo inferior en el cuestionario pre intervención, excepto en las pregunta 2 (p-valor = 0,2673) y 10 (p-valor = 0,2278), aunque el porcentaje de aciertos aumentó en el postest. El análisis inferencial de la calificación global del postest según las variables sociodemográficas no mostró diferencias estadísticamente significativas (p<0,05). Conclusiones: La intervención educativa sobre lactancia materna ha resultado efectiva en cuanto a la adquisición de conocimientos. No se puede afirmar que exista una relación entre los resultados y alguna de las variables sociodemográficas estudiadas.

Sociodemographic variables and response variables were analyzed with descriptive statistics and univariate and bivariate inferential statistics were applied to determine the significance of the study. Findings: The pre - intervention sample were 44 students. 86,36 % (n = 38 ) had received breastfeeding. The average mark over 10 from the pre – intervention questionnaire was 5,06. For the post- intervention there were 2 lost : 42 students . The average mark over 10 from the post intervention questionnaire was 8,27. All survey questions were statistically significant in the percentage of hits in the two matched groups, being lower in the pre-intervention questionnaire, except for question 2 (p -value = 0.2673 ) and 10 ( p- value = 0.2278 ), although the percentage of correct answers increased in the post-test . The inferential analysis of the overall rating of the post-test by sociodemographic variables showed no statistically significant differences ( p < 0.05 ) . Conclusions: Educational intervention on breastfeeding has beeing effective in terms of knowledge acquisition. It can not be said that there is a relationship between the results and some of the sociodemographic variables studied.
