Primera cita de Mithracites vectensis Gould, 1859 (Decapoda : Brachyura : Homoloidea) a la península Ibèrica

Abstract

Es fa la primera cita de Mithracites vectensis Gould, 1859 a la península Ibèrica. S’amplia la distribució estratigràfica de l’espècie i del gènere fins al Barremià superior (Cretaci Inferior). Es documenta la distribució paleogeogràfica del gènere Mithracites Gould, 1859 al marge occidental del Tethys, que fins ara es considerava estrictament restringit a l’Aptià del Regne Unit i Colòmbia.

Mithracites vectensis Gould, 1859 is reported formally for first time in the Iberian Peninsula (Lower Cretaceous). The stratigraphic range of the species and genus is enlarged to the upper Barremian. The paleogeographic distribution of the genus Mithracites Gould, 1859, hitherto restricted to the Aptian from the United Kingdom and Colombia, is enlarged to the westernmost margin of Tethys.
