CÓMO ABORDAR LA ENSEÑANZA DE LA HISTORIA DEL ARTE DESDE UNA PERSPECTIVA DE GÉNERO: EL MOVIMIENTO IMPRESIONISTA COMO EJEMPLO

Abstract

En las páginas siguientes presento una propuesta metodológica sobre cómo afrontar la enseñanza de la historia del arte desde una perspectiva de género. Para ello, nos centraremos en uno de los movimientos artísticos más fácilmente identificables por el alumnado y por el público en general: el impresionismo. Nuestro proyecto educativo bajo el título, «Impresionismo en clave feminista», tiene como objetivo comprender el surgimiento y las características de dicha corriente artística a través de la visión de pintores y de pintoras impresionistas. Al mismo tiempo que explica los estereotipos y roles de género que se desprenden de sus cuadros, resaltando la situación no solo de la mujer artista sino de las mujeres en general.

The aim of this communication is to present a methodological proposal on how to approach the teaching of art history from a gender perspective. To this end we focus on one of the artistic movements most easily identified by students and the public in general: Impressionism. Our educational project, entitled, “Impressionism in a feminist key”, seeks to understand the emergence and characteristics of this artistic current through the vision of painters and impressionists; and at the same time to explain the stereotypes and gender roles that emerge from its paintings, thus highlighting the situation not only of the woman artist, but of women in general
