LA HISTORIOGRAFÍA COMO UNA ESTRUCTURA DE PODER. EL ANÁLISIS CRÍTICO SOBRE OBRAS, ESTRATEGIAS Y REFLEXIONES COMO HERRAMIENTA DIDÁCTICA, PARA IMPARTIR LA HISTORIA DEL ARTE OCCIDENTAL, PROMOVIENDO VALORES DE GÉNERO

Abstract

En el presente ensayo se delimitan diversas tácticas desarrolladas por el pensamiento androcéntrico al narrar la historia oficial del Arte Occidental. Las diferentes estrategias de ocultación en obras de autoría femenina, así como de sus valores, discursos y trayectorias permiten valorar los modelos de representación e instrucción de la propia historia, tal y como se viene impartiendo desde las instituciones en aulas y manuales. Este ensayo se apoya en la perspectiva feminista para abordar el análisis de obras relacionadas con el sexo femenino -tales como Vagina Painting de Shigeko Kubota; Genital Panic de Valie Export; The Dinner Parte de Judy Chicago; Interior Scroll de Carolee Scheeman y Untitled de Zoe Leonard-, al mismo tiempo que se sirve de reflexiones, experiencias y sentires de artistas e historiadoras/es, convirtiendo este material en herramienta didáctica y educativa para impartir, desde otra perspectiva, la historia. De este modo la historia del arte occidental se modifica y actualiza, ya que también lo hacen los intereses y atenciones de la misma, facilitando así la inclusión de cuestiones de género en futuros estudios, pensamientos e investigaciones.

The purpose of this essay is to delimit various tactics developed by androcentric thinking in the construction of the official history of western art. The different concealment strategies in works by female artists, their values, discourses and pathways allow us to evaluate the strategies of representation and instruction of history itself, as it has been taught in institutional classrooms and textbooks. This essay is based on the feminist perspective to address the analysis of works related to the female sex––such as Vagina Painting by Shigeko Kubota, Genital Panic by Valie Export, The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago, Interior Scroll by Carolee Scheeman and Untitled by Zoe Leonard––at the same time using reflections, experiences and feelings of artists and historians, turning this material into a teaching and educational tool to teach history from another perspective. Thus the history of western art, and its interests and attentions, are modified and updated, thereby facilitating the inclusion of gender issues in future studies, thoughts and research.
