Identifying a feminist piece of writing or considering a particular essay as such is a very
intricate issue, since the term feminism itself has been qualified by most philologists,
psychologists and historians as a really ambiguous term. In fact, as yet, no precise or unique
definition of what feminism is has been set. Nevertheless, from my point of view this is
completely understandable because throughout history it is possible to find many types of
feminism and at the same time these can also be linked to many different fields of study. In
this paper I will try to find some outstanding feminist elements dealing mainly with two of
them that can be considered as a quite innovative focus of study due to their relatively new
importance. These are the so-called Black Feminism and Ecological Feminism. Thereafter,
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison will be the object of analysis according to the two
aforementioned perspectives. I personally believe that the existing continuous discussion
about feminism in literature is genuinely positive since it means that in parallel the search for
real equality is still in progress. [-]
