Masculinidades ¿Por qué los Hombres también necesitan feminismo?

Abstract

El siglo XX ha sido una época de cambios para las mujeres que se han empoderado para reclamar sus derechos y libertades. Con las transformaciones de la sociedad, el hombre se ha visto obligado a cambiar también. La identidad masculina que imperaba hasta entonces se desvanece y surgen las llamadas nuevas masculinidades, que critican el modelo hegemónico. En este artículo científico se tratará de abordar las masculinidades desde una perspectiva feminista. Se hará un estudio sobre la masculinidad hegemónica y se intentará explicar cómo el patriarcado ha influido en su construcción; se hablará sobre las crisis que dieron lugar a las nuevas masculinidades que siguen apareciendo hoy en día; se hará un repaso a los diversos cambios que han sufrido los llamados hombres nuevos y, por último, se aportarán una serie de conclusiones por las que el feminismo es importante también para los varones

The twentieth century has been a time of change for women who have been empowered to claim their rights and freedoms. With the transformation of the society, men have been forced to change too. Male identity that prevailed until then fades and new masculinities appear, which criticize the hegemonic model. In this article, I will attempt to address masculinity from a feminist perspective. There will be a study on hegemonic masculinity, and it will be explained how patriarchy has influenced its construction; it will be discussed the crisis that led to the new masculinities that are still appearing today; we will see the different changes that have affected the so-called 'new men' and, finally, I will provide a series of conclusions of why feminism is also important for men.
