There is in society an increasing concern by corruption and the quality of government. In
these years of crisis, particularly in Spain, the quality of government (QoG) has gone
from being unessential to one of the Three main problems of the country. There is
abundant literature on the subject, but unfortunately there is not a clear definition. In this
paper we carry out a review of the literature and following the line of other studies, we
has studied how QoG affects on average to development. We also follow a quantile
regression approach, which is a new in this field. This will allow us observe the effects of
the QoG variable in the different levels of development. We've performed analyzes
cross-section of 132 countries, using 4 different databases. The results show that the
degree of development of the country is relevant when it comes to seeing the impact
that the variables have on it. [-]
