Keeping in mind how the online market is replacing the old channels for hotel reservation
(such as travel agencies, telephone or fax), it is interesting to know if hoteliers are carrying
out dynamic prices strategies or not, because of the ease that prices can be currently
modified based on their competitors strategies, seasonality, changes in the tourist
preferences, etc. The goal of this study is to obtain a first approach based on a sample of
data collected for a European city during a particular month; in order to observe whether
there are differences in prices between holiday and working weeks, and which would be the
optimal time for a customer to make a reservation for each of them. [-]
