dc.description.abstractA study of the contents of manuscript 8852 held at the Biblioteca Nacional de España (National Library of Spain) has enabled us to confirm the existence of two different mediaeval Castilian translations of the Epistulae ad Lucilium: one of them was dependent on the first version in Catalan and the other based on an earlier French translation. This reveals the highly complex map of the dissemination of Seneca’s text in Romance languages and its distribution throughout the western world in the Middle Ages.ca_CA
dc.description.abstractEl estudio del contenido del manuscrito 8852 de la Biblioteca Nacional de España permite confirmar la existencia de dos traducciones castellanas medievales diferentes de las Epistulae ad Lucilium: una dependiente de la primera versión catalana y otra, de la traducción francesa anterior. Gracias a ello, se dibuja un mapa muy complejo de la difusión del texto de Séneca en lengua romance y de su circulación por el occidente medieval.ca_CA
