Javier Aguirre made a series of eight experimental films that be called Anti-cine during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Along with the films, he published a book in which he elucidates what is references were in his search for film form. He explains that his notion of revolution, breaking away from standard conventions and experimentation with expressive ressources all came together to create meaning in his abstract and nearly always non-figurative films. The article here looks at these characteristics in his films and analyzes the relationship in them between formal experimentation and revolutionary practices [-]
