De mayor quiero ser traductor . Estudio de las preconcepciones de los alumnos de primer curso del Grado en Traducción e Interpretación

Abstract

In recent years, the number of students embarking on undergraduate courses in translation and interpreting has increased significantly. For the improvement of classroom teaching, it is important to analyse students’ thoughts and ideas about translation at the onset of their studies in order to discover what lies behind that increasing attraction, and to identify the incorrect or inaccurate ideas they may have, adjusting teaching content and methods in response to the needs detected. On the one hand, the aim is to generate a greater awareness, among future translators, of the current socio-professional profile of the translator, whilst also helping undergraduate students of Translation and Interpreting to develop a coherent view of the discipline and of the discipline and the different subjects they are taught over the course of their degree programme.

Los estudios de traducción e interpretación vienen despertando, en los últimos años, un interés creciente en lo que respecta al número de alumnos que desean cursar esta formación. Desde el punto de vista de la mejora educativa, es interesante analizar las preconcepciones concretas que albergan los estudiantes al acercarse a las aulas, a fin de descubrir qué hay detrás de esta atracción. Este análisis responde al propósito de tomar conciencia de aquellas falsas ideas o creencias erróneas que manifiesta el alumnado, para, en un segundo término, reforzar su formación en base a las necesidades detectadas. Se pretende así, por una parte, formar profesionales conscientes del perfil socio-profesional actual del traductor; y, por otra, constituir un eje vertebrador que permita a los alumnos integrar su aprendizaje a lo largo de su formación en el Grado de Traducción e Interpretación.
