Els drets humans i la cultura de la pau

Abstract

Aquest article tracta de presentar la cultura de la pau com el camí que permetrà de canviar les complexes realitats en què vivim. Cal, d’antuvi, construir la pau, i la fi de segle i el trànsit cap a un nou mil·leni ens brinden una oportunitat històrica per fer-ho. El segle XX ha estat el més tràgic de tota l’era moderna, hem viscut en una cultura bèl·lica, on ha prevalgut l’agressió i el domini violent. Afortunadament l’evolució de les consciències cap als valors de la pau i la tolerància ha aconseguit afavorir una actitud oposada que justifica aquest concepte de cultura de la pau.

The aim of this article is to show that the culture of peace is the way to change the complex realities we are living in. Firstly, we must foster peace. The end of the century and the new millenium offer us precisely a historical opportunity to do so. The 20th century has been the most tragic period in modern and contemporary history, we have been living in a warlike culture, plenty of aggressions and violence. Fortunately, the evolution of conscience towards the values of peace and tolerance has carried with it the blossoming of a different attitude that justifies this concept of culture of peace.
