Ojos que no ven: algunas notas en torno al cine contemporáneo

Abstract

El presente artículo invita a replantear el papel que juega el cine en el concierto audiovisual contemporáneo. Inserto en la dinámica de las sinergias multimediáticas que caracteriza a las industrias culturales, las formas que adopta, los relatos que vehicula y los discursos que transmite mantienen una clara correlación con los condicionamientos económicos, industriales, etcétera. El trabajo aboga por un estudio de los textos audiovisuales en los que se respete la centralidad de estos, pero que, al mismo tiempo, incorpore las consideraciones aludidas, para una auténtica comprensión de su funcionalidad y su sentido pragmático. El trabajo analiza las transformaciones que se están operando en la concepción que los productores tienen de las películas, al hilo del surgimiento de nuevas fórmulas y tecnologías para la distribución audiovisual, y el alza del consumo doméstico. En conclusión, el nuevo panorama presenta tantas posibilidades creativas favorables como cualquiera precedente. El reto consistirá, entonces, en encontrar los medios para hacerlos realidad

This paper invites to reconsider the role of cinema in the contemporary audiovisual concert. Enrolled in the dynamic of multimedia synerigies which characterises the cultural industries nowadays, the forms that it takes, the stories it tells and the discourses it communicates are obviously linked to the economics and the industrial conditioning factors. This paper pleads for studying the audiovisual texts respecting their central position, but also for adding those considerations, in order to achieve a genuine comprehension of their function and pragmatic sense. The work analyses the changes which are happening in the producers conception of films, as a result of the impact of new formulas and technologies for the audiovisual distribution, and the rise of the domestic viewing experience. In short, there are as many favourable creative chances in the new scene as in any other previous. Then the challenge lies on finding the means to make them real
