Justo cuando el milenio toca a su fin, parece que las grandes utopías ceden frente al imparable ascenso de la homogeneización universal: fin de la historia y de las ideologías. Un mito.
La imposición en el terreno cinematográfico de una concepción ligada a la industria, como bien cultural mercantilizado, también aparece hoy como hegemónica. Las conmemoraciones del centenario del cinematógrafo han contribuido a reforzar un proceso teleológico cada día más asentado, incluso entre los teóricos e historiadores: el cine caminó desde su inicio hacia lo que es hoy. The imposition on the cinematographic ground of a conception linked to industry, as a commodified cultural good, also appears today as hegemonic. The celebrations of the centenary of the cinematograph have helped to strengthen a teleological process that is becoming more settled, even among theorists and historians: the cinema walked from its inception to what it is today.
