The crisis has not only highlighted the disconnection between real and financial economy, but has also allowed questioning, though timidly, the legitimating role that often corresponds to the meritocratic attributes (effort, intelligence, etc.) in the kind of inequality to which the market system leads. After questioning some of the bases (moral if you will) on which the principle of justice of the capitalism was established (the old question of a legitimate economic inequality in relation to formal and rights equality within the citizenship, but also the emerging problem of wage ceilings, etc.), we find ourselves, whether we like it or not, before the opportunity of having more equalitarian measures, given the growing and perhaps not only temporary social proclivity towards them; a sociological basis that is valid from the open and demanding conceptualization of equality in our legal system.
