Abstract

El Museo de la Aeronáutica Gianni Caproni de Trento es el más antiguo dedicado a la aviación en Italia. En 1929, Settimia Guasti y Gianni Caproni fundaron el primer museo en Taliedo a partir de la recuperación, documentación y conservación de aeronaves propias y de la competencia, así como obras de arte y elementos relacio-nados con el vuelo. El museo ha cambiado de ubicación y ha ido aumentando su colección de aeronaves y obras de arte hasta emplazarse en su sede de Trento en 1992. Este artículo realiza una panorámica del Museo Caproni que reconstruye la figura histórica del ingeniero y su empresa, relata el orígen del museo, sus transfor-maciones, sus colecciones y su actualidad dentro del organigrama de museos de la provincia de Trento.

The Gianni Caproni Aeronautical Museum in Trento is the oldest museum dedicat-ed to aviation in Italy. In 1929, Settimia Guasti and Gianni Caproni founded the first museum in Taliedo by recovering, documenting and preserving their own and their competitors’ aircrafts, as well as works of art and items related to flight. The museum has since moved to a new location and expanded its collection of aircraft and works of art until it moved to its Trento site in 1992. This article pro-vides an overview of the Caproni Museum, reconstructing the historical figure of the engineer and his company, the origins of the museum, its transformations, the collections and its current position within the museum organigram of the province of Trento.
