Gratitude can be defined as a feeling that allows us to recognize what has benefited us and to
reciprocate, in some way, by showing gratitude. Research indicates that the practice of
gratitude has important benefits for both physical and mental health and generates higher
levels of psychological well-being. The overall objective of this project is to present a training
designed to enhance gratitude and to evaluate the qualitative opinion of the participants about
the effects generated after the training in female university students. A focus group was
organized with five participants who had previously received the gratitude training and were
asked about their experiences related to gratitude during and after the program, what changes
they had experienced and which of the proposed exercises they considered most effective.
After qualitative analysis of the data, the results show that the participants mainly emphasize
the awareness of the details of daily life to be grateful for and the need to enhance gratitude
towards oneself for the effort made in achieving achievements, regardless of whether these
achievements have been obtained or not. The gratitude training has had a positive effect on the
participants' mood, as well as learning to express gratitude to others and improving
relationships as a result. All the participants showed their satisfaction with the program and
were grateful for being able to be part of it. Finally, although it is not part of this TFM, we would
like to indicate that the program has been carried out effectively and with excellent results, we
will continue working in this line and identify aspects that can be improved to help people more
effectively. [-]
