Relación y diferencias entre la atención primaria en el medio rural y urbano. Revisión integradora.

Abstract

Introducción: La atención primaria de salud es el nivel inicial que garantiza la globalidad y continuidad de la atención a lo largo de la vida del paciente. Su objetivo es garantizar el mayor nivel posible de salud y bienestar. Se diferencia entre la cartera común básica, la cartera común suplementaria y la cartera de servicios accesorios. Es importante implementar el Proceso Enfermero en el medio rural. Objetivos: Comprender la función de la atención primaria y su importancia dentro del sistema nacional de salud. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión integradora en las siguientes bases de datos: PubMed, Biblioteca Cochrane, SciELO y SCOPUS. Concluyendo en tres estrategias de búsqueda, la 1ª con el término “care”, la 2ª sin él y la 3ª, como la 2ª pero con los términos “urban environment” y “rural environment” por separado. Resultados: Para la búsqueda Nº1 no se obtuvieron resultados, para la búsqueda Nº2 se obtuvieron 3 artículos para formar parte de esta revisión y para la búsqueda Nº3 un total de 7 artículos que se incluyeron; con lo cual, 10 artículos se utilizaron para la realización de este trabajo. Conclusiones: La atención primaria es fundamental para garantizar el acceso a la atención sanitaria en zonas rurales y urbanas. A pesar de las dificultades en las zonas rurales, los servicios prestados son mejores debido a la cercanía de los profesionales sanitarios con sus pacientes, teniendo más tiempo para atenderlos y listas de espera más cortas.

Background: Primary healthcare is the initial level that ensures the comprehensiveness and continuity of care throughout the patient's life. Its objective is to guarantee the highest possible level of health and well-being. It is differentiated between the basic common portfolio, the supplementary common portfolio, and the portfolio of accessory services. It is important to implement the Nursing Process in rural areas. Objectives: Understanding the role of primary healthcare and its importance within the national health system. Methodology: An integrative review was conducted in the following databases: PubMed, Cochrane Library, SciELO, and SCOPUS. Three search strategies were concluded, the 1st with the term "care", the 2nd without it, and the 3rd, like the 2nd but with the terms "urban environment" and "rural environment" separately. Results: No results were obtained for search 1, 3 articles were obtained for search 2 to be part of this review, and a total of 7 articles were included for search 3; therefore, 10 articles were used for the completion of this work. Conclusions: Primary healthcare is essential to guarantee access to healthcare in rural and urban areas. Despite the difficulties in rural areas, the services provided are better due to the proximity of healthcare professionals to their patients, having more time to attend to them and shorter waiting lists.
