| ca_CA |
dc.description.abstract | The topic to be addressed in this Master's thesis, hereinafter TFM, is self-care as a tool to improve the Work Engagement of caregivers of dependent people (workers in nursing homes, day care centers, psychiatric hospitals, etc.). This topic has been chosen because of the wear and tear that caregivers can suffer due to the physical and emotional burden of their work. For this reason, it is argued that in order for a caregiver to be able to do his or her job well and have Engagement, he or she first needs to be well and take care of him or herself. First, the concept of Work Engagement and its three dimensions; Vigor, Absorption and Dedication will be studied (Shaufeli & Bakker, 2004, p. 295). Subsequently, self-care will be analyzed, which will be the tool to be used in the proposal of this TFM. As aspects to be highlighted within self-care are: a training program in self-care skills (introduction to self-care workshops), healthy sleep habits (sleep hygiene, sleep routines), and emotional support and support networks (support groups where caregivers can share experiences). Finally, the aim of this proposal is to teach caregivers to take care of themselves, and that this has a positive effect on their levels of Work Engagement. | ca_CA |
