Sinonimia y enseñanza del léxico en los manuales de ELE orientados a sinohablantes

Abstract

The objective of this work is twofold. The first consist in analyzing how vocabulary is treated in Spanish textbooks for Chinese speakers; the second is to study the role given to synonymy as a resource for vocabulary teaching in these textbooks. To carry out this analysis, we have selected four basic level (A1-A2) textbooks. Among them, two are specifically intended for Chinese speakers, one of them is aimed at foreign learners, and the other is designed exclusively for vocabulary learning. The results of the analysis are as follows. Firstly, the lexical component does not receive an appropriate treatment in any of the textbooks which we have analyzed. This is due to a variety of problems that need to be resolved, such as the monotonous manner in which the words are presented and defined, the scarcity of communicative activities intended for vocabulary practice, the lack of strategies and resources for self-learning, etc. Secondly, they hardly use synonymy as a didactic resource for the vocabulary teaching.

El objetivo del presente trabajo es doble, el primero consiste en analizar el tratamiento que recibe el léxico en los manuales de ELE orientados a sinohablantes; el segundo, en estudiar el papel otorgado a la sinonimia como recurso para la enseñanza del léxico en estos mismos manuales. Para llevar a cabo este análisis, hemos seleccionado cuatro manuales del nivel básico (A1-A2), entre ellos dos son específicamente orientados a los sinohablantes, uno se dirige a todos aprendientes extranjeros, y otro está destinado exclusivamente al aprendizaje del léxico. El análisis de los manuales citados antes nos ha permitido llegar a dos conclusiones relevantes. En primer lugar, el componente léxico no recibe un tratamiento apropiado en ninguno de los manuales objeto de nuestro estudio, pues todos tienen algunos problemas a resolver, tales como la monotonía a la hora de presentar y definir el léxico, la escasez de actividades comunicativas orientadas a trabajar el léxico, la penuria de estrategias y recursos para el autoaprendizaje, etc. En segundo lugar, apenas utilizan la sinonimia como recurso didáctico para la enseñanza del léxico.
