La entrada real de Felipe IV en Valencia, el 19 de abril de 1632

Abstract

On 19 April 1632, Philip IV entered the city of Valencia accompanied by his two brothers Charles and Ferdinand of Austria. The city entertained them with a week of festivities, fireworks, parades and soirees. The entry is recorded in a small booklet written by "your brother R.B." and entitled: First copy and true account of the festivities and reception that the city of Valencia has given to His Majesty the king our Lord Philip IV, and his brothers, on Monday the nineteenth of April of this present year, sixteen hundred and thirty-two (Barcelona, 1632).

El 19 de abril de 1632 Felipe IV entró en la ciudad de Valencia acompañado por sus dos hermanos don Carlos y don Fernando de Austria. La ciudad les agasajó con una semana de fiestas, fuegos artificiales, encamisadas y saraos. La entrada está recogida en un pequeño libreto escrito por “vuestro hermano R.B.” y lleva por título: Copia primera y Relacion verdadera de las fiestas y recibimie[n]to que ha hecho la Ciudad de Valencia à la Magestad del Rey nuestro Señor Filipo Quarto, y a sus hermanos, Lunes a diez y nueve de Abril deste presente Año de mil seiscientos treynta y dos (Barcelona, 1632).
