Culpa y ecocrítica: nuevas representaciones poéticas de la culpa ante la crisis antropogénica en Mireia Calafell, Núria Mirabet y Silvie Rothkovic

Abstract

Com a resultat de la intersecció amb la biologia, la filosofia i l’antropologia, la psicologia ha generat un ampli corpus teòric sobre la teoria dels afectes i les emocions,altament valuós en un context en què el subjecte es troba davant d’una crisi permanent de la biosfera.Estudiosos com Melanie Klein (1998, 2001) o Lawrence Buell (2016) coincideixen a distingir la depressió i la por com a emocions immediates davantl’adversitat. Tanmateix, advertim que en els darrers anys les anomenades emocions proscrites (Jaggar, 1989), com per exemple, l’odi, l’enveja,la vergonya o la culpa també exerceixen un paper decisiu a l’hora d’interpretar moments de crisi. D’entre aquestes emocions, la culpa és la que fins ara ha generat més literatura i la que segons la psicologia tradicional malmet més el subjecte (Freud, 1923). Sotmesa encara a rígids estereotips de gènere, la culpa es caracteritza pel seu impacte negatiu en la psique, però també per la capacitat d’activar mecanismes adaptatius en relació al comportament moral i social (Barret, 1995; Eisenberg, 1986). Tenint en compte aquestes característiques i el fet que en la subjectivitat moderna ja no s’encabeix únicament dins els límits del jo individual, el present article explorarà les noves figuracions poètiques de la culpa en l’era antropogènica. Així, a partir de l’anàlisi dels poemaris Nosaltres, qui(2020) de Mireia Calafell, Lianes o les rates que imiten l’Esther Williams (2021)de Núria Mirabet i Als llacs(2021)de Silvie Rothkovics’estudiarà de quina manera l’ecohumanisme es manifesta en l’imaginari poètic quan se situa davant de narratives de destrucció, extinció i irreversibilitat.

As a result of the intersection with biology, philosophy, and anthropology, psychology has generated a valuable theoretical corpus on the theory of affect and emotions in a context where the subject faces a permanent biosphere crisis. Scholars such as Melanie Klein (1998, 2001) and Lawrence Buell (2016) agree in distinguishing between depression and fear as immediate emotions in adversity. However, we note that in recent years so-called outlawed emotions (Jaggar, 1989), such as hatred, envy, shame, or guilt, have also played a decisive role in interpreting moments of crisis. Among these emotions, guilt is the one that has generated the most literature so far and the one that, according to traditional psychology, harms the subject the most (Freud 1923). Still subject to rigid gender stereotypes, guilt is characterized by its negative impact on the psyche and the ability to activate adaptive mechanisms concerning moral and social behaviour (Barret, 1995; Eisenberg, 1986). Given these characteristics and the fact that in modern subjectivity it no longer fits only within the limits of the individual self, this article will explore the new poetic figurations of guilt in the anthropogenic era. Thus, from the analysis of a selection of poems fromNosaltres, qui(2020) by Mireia Calafell,Lianes o les rates que imiten l’Esther Williams(2021), Núria Mirabet andAls llacs(2021), Silvie Rothkovic, I will study how ecohumanism manifests itself in the poetic imagination when faced with destruction, extinction, and irreversibility narratives.
