“Outpatients” e “Inpatients” utilizando los operadores booleanos “OR” y “AND” para unirlas.

Introduction: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is a medical treatment that aims to
replace bone marrow that is unable to perform its function correctly with healthy bone marrow.
In recent years, due to the increase in the number of transplants, different healtcare centres
around the world have opted for new approaches to care and treatment, including hematopoietic
stem cell transplantation in the outpatient setting.
Objective: To compare the characteristics of autologous hematopoietic stem cell
transplantation for hematological diseases between the outpatient and inpatient setting.
Methodology: A bibliographic search was carried out in the databases PubMed, Virtual Health
Library, Cochrane Library, SciELO and Scopus, using the keywords "Hematopoietic Stem Cell
Transplantation", "Transplantation, Autologous", "Outpatients" and "Inpatients" using the
boolean operators “OR” and “AND” to join them.
Results: A total of n=15 articles were used for the review. Of these, 66,66% (n=10) are from
PubMed, 26,66% (n=4) are from Scopus, 6,66% (n=1) are from the VHL and 0% (n=0) are
from Cochrane Library and SciELO.
Conclusion: Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for hematological diseases in
the outpatient setting is safe, feasible, cost-effective and associated with low mortality. Overall,
the results obtained in the two setting studied for transplantation do not show a significant
difference. [-]
