La construcción social de la maternidad: Análisis teórico y nuevos modelos desde la genealogía feminista

Abstract

Este trabajo trata de sostener, a través de una revisión bibliográfica en relación a la maternidad, que ésta responde a un fenómeno psicocultural y no biologicista. Para ello, se apoya en investigaciones y teorías desarrolladas por académicas desde la perspectiva feminista, analizando y desgranando la construcción social de la maternidad, contraponiendo las teorías tradicionales y hegemónicas sustentadas en el androcentrismo, que producen y reproducen el modelo de maternidad preeminente. En la primera parte de este trabajo, se realiza una aproximación científica a la configuración de los sexos, se analiza la construcción del sujeto femenino y la feminidad, así como el binomio mujer-madre. Posteriormente, se examina la transformación histórica del concepto de maternidad, la concepción del instinto maternal y la buena madre, seguido de la transformación de la sexualidad y los nuevos modelos de familia y de maternidad. Finalmente, se trata de precisar algunas conclusiones en relación a los resultados obtenidos que apuntan y señalan la posibilidad de un modelo feminista de maternidad. Este trabajo también busca, al recurrir principalmente a sus aportes y teorías, visibilizar el trabajo de mujeres en esta disciplina, tradicionalmente invisibilizadas.

This paper tries to sustain, through a bibliographic review in relation to motherhood, that it responds to a psychocultural and not a biologist phenomenon. To this end, it is based on research and theories developed by academics from a feminist perspective, analyzing the social construction of motherhood, opposing the traditional and hegemonic theories based on androcentrism, which produce and reproduce the preeminent model of motherhood. In the first part of this work, a scientific approach to the configuration of the sexes is made, the construction of the female subject and femininity is analyzed, as well as the woman-mother binomial. Subsequently, it examines the historical transformation of the concept of motherhood, the conception of the maternal instinct and the good mother, followed by the transformation of sexuality and the new models of family and motherhood. Finally, some conclusions are drawn in relation to the results obtained, which point to the possibility of a feminist model of motherhood. This work also seeks, by resorting mainly to their contributions and theories, to make visible the work of women in this discipline, traditionally invisible.
