| ca_CA |
dc.description.abstract | It is unfathomable how, albeit the economic cost of the inability to achieve the explicit objectives or meet the needs and interests of women, their institutionalization has survived and evolved since the Middle Ages. In this context, this paper aims to initiate a process of analysis and reflection on the institutionalization of women in residential social services centers from a feminist perspective. For this reason, a review of secondary sources has been carried out. In addition, the mechanisms, the discursive and non-discursive forms through which power is deployed and which have been present in the institutionalisation of women throughout time and the current specific characteristics have been analyzed. In this regard, Foucault’s term device has made it possible to understand this type of institutionalization as a disciplining for women in traditional sexual roles. | ca_CA |
