| ca_CA |
dc.description.abstract | Background: Several studies have shown higher stress levels in medical students compared to general population of the same age. They have also highlighted the long-term consequences for students and future patients. This study aims to describe the quality and duration of sleep, chronotype, social jetlag as well as perceived stress and sources of stress in 1st, 3rd and 6th year students of the Medical degree at UJI and to analyze the relationship between these variables. Sociodemographic and lifestyle data, chronotype and social jetlag (MCTQ), sleep quality (PSQI), percieved stress (PSS-14), a list of 33 stressors to assess the different sources of stress and its severity and a questions aboutstress by COVID-19 were collected. Descriptive, correlational and regression analyses were performed with the results obtained. Results: The response rate was 51,17% (131 of 256). The mean PSS-14 score was 25,8±8,92 with no differences between courses. The mean chronotype was 4,54 (4,02-5,08) hours, with 29,8% of the students presenting an evening chrontype. The mean PSQI score was 4,86±2,55 observing poor sleep quality in 39,2%. Conclusion: Differences were found in chronotype, social jetlag and sleep quality according to academic year. Students in the first year presented a more evening chronotype, greater social jetlag and worse sleep quality compared to students in the third and sixth years, althogh statistical significance was not reached in relation to sleep quality. About 73% of the students presented moderate or severe stress, with no differences between courses. | ca_CA |
