Nietzsche y Wagner: la historia de un desencuentro

Abstract

The subject of my work is to study the quirky relationship between the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and the musician Richard Wagner as a result of a shared passion for art, especially music, and Greek tragedy. The main objective is to analyze and explain this relationship through a systematic research of the existing bibliography in order to understand the points of view of both regarding the art-life relationship and the possible recovery of the Greek tragedy, with its original function of transmitting a message. Nietzsche as a philosopher of art and vitalist, in his attempt to build a free human being, finds in Wagner's music the artistic manifestation of his thought. Wagner for his part uses Nietzsche's ideas to promote his Gesamtkunstwerk work.

El tema del siguiente trabajo es estudiar la peculiar relación que el filósofo Friedrich Nietzsche y el músico Richard Wagner tuvieron a raíz de compartir la pasión por el arte, por la música en especial, y la tragedia griega. El objetivo principal es analizar y explicar esta relación mediante una investigación sistemática de la bibliografía existente con el fin de entender los puntos de vista de ambos con respeto a la relación arte-vida y la posible recuperación de la tragedia griega, con su función original, la de transmitir un mensaje. Nietzsche como filósofo del arte y vitalista, en su intento de construir un ser humano libre, encuentra en la música de Wagner la manifestación artística de su pensamiento. Wagner por su parte utiliza las ideas de Nietzsche para promover su obra Gesamtkunstwerk.
