Análisis bibliométrico de los artículos publicados sobre relaciones públicas y redes sociales digitales en revistas indexadas en Scopus y en Web of Science

Abstract

El objetivo principal de las relaciones públicas se basa en lograr la comprensión y el diálogo entre la organización y sus públicos. De esta forma, las redes sociales digitales adquieren especial relevancia, ya que fortalecen la comunicación y la relación que mantienen estos sujetos. Pese al incremento de investigaciones sobre el uso de las redes sociales digitales en el ámbito de las relaciones públicas, los estudios de revisión que analizan estos trabajos son escasos. Ante este contexto, la presente investigación pretende recopilar, sintetizar y examinar la producción científica sobre esta temática a través de un análisis bibliométrico de los artículos publicados en revistas indexadas en el área de comunicación de las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science (WOS). Tras la realización del estudio se concluye que el interés por el tema es reciente y, aunque hay variedad de autores e instituciones que muestran interés, también se produce cierta especialización al existir revistas, investigadores y universidades especialmente interesados en esta temática. También cabe destacar que el índice de coautoría obtenido en este estudio es relativamente alto y que los textos analizados son de calidad.

The main objective of public relations is based on achieving understanding and dialogue between the organization and its stakeholders. In this way, digital social networks acquire special relevance, since they strengthen communication and the relationship that these subjects maintain. Despite the increase in research on the use of digital social networks in the field of public relations, the review studies that analyze these scholarships are scarce. In this context, the present research aims to compile, synthesize and examine the scientific production on this subject through a bibliometric analysis of papers published in journals indexed in the communication area of the Scopus and Web of Science (WOS) databases. After carrying out the study, it is concluded that the interest in the subject is recent and, although there are a variety of authors and institutions that show interest, there is also a certain specialization in the existence of journals, researchers and universities especially interested in this subject. It also highlights that the co-authorship index obtained in this study is relatively high and that the analyzed texts are of quality.
