Reactivación Rural is a local digital media outlet focused on Castellón and specialised in the depopulation suffered by almost 80 of its 135 villages. It is not a problem affecting only Castellón, in fact, according to the data of Fundación BBVA and the Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Económicas (EP, 2019), in the last 20 years the population of the villages under 1000 inhabitants has decreased 8,9 %. The main purpose of this project is to share information about the problem but through a positive prism. Because many of the texts written about depopulation nowadays just mention the lack of services and the downsides of living in the countryside. Apart from that, it is vital to provide the readers with truthful information and encourage them to change their point of view about living in a small village. Even though Reactivación Rural talks only about projects and ideas born in rural regions of the province, its content is not aimed at them only but at whoever who might be interested in learning about depopulation or willing to become an entrepreneur, may them live in Castellón or a small village of another point of Spain. Before starting the publication process, research was made to study the competitors. This raised the issue of other media outlets focused on the same region as Reactivación Rural such as InfoPalancia.com, DiaDia and Vinaròs News. But none of them talks only about depopulation in detail, as it is done in this project. Being aware of the differences and similarities between them allowed the journalist to avoid reproducing their style, which is quite superficial. The logo of Reactivación Rural is completely original and the election of colours was made attending to the studies carried by Color Marketing Group (2018), they ensure that green brings up youth and hope, while brown is directly related to nature.ca_CA
