Job crafting, within the framework of the theoretical model of Job Demands-Resources,
is the proactive behaviour that seeks to achieve individual objectives by modifying the
job resources and job demands that characterise a job, in order to adjust it to the
employee's personal skills and needs. This study is a literature review of the academic
literature on job crafting and employee job redesign, focusing on the Job DemandsResources model.
The motivation for this literature review on the concept of job crafting comes from
wanting to know how an individual belonging to an organization can influence it and
how he or she can manage to increase the feeling of belonging to the organization.
The overall purpose of this paper is to define the concept of "Job Crafting", as well as
the review of the models made by the different main authors of the subject, as well as,
framing the job crafting in the Job Demands-Resources model, to know the previous
characteristics needed to perform it, the effects it produces both in the employee
himself and in the organization. [-]
