Análisis estadístico del impacto del COVID en la violencia contra las mujeres

Abstract

En este trabajo nos centraremos en la comprensión del fenómeno de la violencia contra la mujer, pero poniendo el foco en la situación actual. Por una parte, aclararemos los aspectos más conceptuales y terminológicos, por otra parte, atenderemos a la caracterización sociológica del fenómeno. Tendremos en cuenta también el aspecto psicológico en el comportamiento de las víctimas y el alcance de las situaciones de violencia, con todo ello esperamos explicar las características del fenómeno que nos pueden resultar más relevantes para contrastarlas con los datos estadísticos y la situación social durante la pandemia. Es importante observarlo desde el punto de vista concreto del caso de nuestro país. Repasamos la evolución histórica del marco legal en torno al tema, nos detendremos en algunos datos específicos a manera de ejemplo para facilitar la comprensión de lo que supone este gran problema. Llegado este punto acotamos el período que corresponde a Marzo 2020 - Febrero 2021, dado lo peculiar de la situación mundial en contexto de pandemia. Describiremos las características más relevantes de la configuración social que se dio como consecuencia de la propagación del virus y las medidas gubernamentales que se tomaron para contrarrestarla. Por supuesto, nos concentraremos en aspectos que se relacionan directa e indirectamente con el fenómeno de la violencia contra la mujer. Con el fin de analizar las observaciones, usaremos datos estadísticos disponibles, el número de denuncias, por ejemplo, las llamadas al 016, el número de sentencias, entre otros datos de interés que atañen al momento específico de la pandemia. Analizaremos estos datos, desde la perspectiva alcanzada en los capítulos anteriores, para interpretar la incidencia que han tenido las características de la situación de pandemia durante el período señalado en torno al fenómeno de la violencia contra la mujer. Avanzaremos hacia el análisis de otros tipos de violencia como la violencia obstétrica y para comprender la situación entrevistamos a una persona que la ha vivido de primera mano. Por último y como broche final nos gustaría dedicarle un apartado especial al ámbito de internet para comprender que la violencia se puede sufrir en aspectos de nuestra vida muy diferentes. Finalmente recogeremos estas interpretaciones de manera sucinta, donde aprovecharemos también para mencionar posibles líneas de acción o investigación que nos parecen pertinentes como parte del esfuerzo por la erradicación de la violencia de género.

In this work we will focus on understand the phenomenon of violence against women, but focusing on the current situation. On the one hand, we will clarify the more conceptual and terminological aspects, on the other hand, we will attend to the sociological characterization of the phenomenon. We will also take into account the psychological aspect in the behavior of the victims and the scope of the situations of violence, with all this we hope to explain the characteristics of the phenomenon that may be more relevant to us in order to contrast them with the statistical data and the social situation during the pandemic. It is important to observe it from the concrete point of view of the case of our country. We review the historical evolution of the legal framework around the subject, we will stop at some specific data as an example to facilitate the understanding of what this great problem entails. At this point, we limit the period that corresponds to March 2020 - February 2021, given the peculiarity of the world situation in the context of a pandemic. We will describe the most relevant characteristics of the social configuration that occurred as a result of the spread of the virus and the government measures that were taken to counteract it. Of course, we will focus on aspects that are directly and indirectly related to the phenomenon of violence against women. In order to analyze the observations, we will use available statistical data, the number of complaints, for example, calls to 016, the number of sentences, among other data of interest that pertain to the specific moment of the pandemic. We will analyze these data, from the perspective reached in the previous chapters, to interpret the impact that the characteristics of the pandemic situation have had during the period indicated regarding the phenomenon of violence against women. We will move towards the analysis of other types of violence such as obstetric violence and to understand the situation we interview a person who has experienced it first hand. Finally, and as a final touch, we would like to dedicate a special section to the field of the internet to understand that violence can be suffered in very different aspects of our lives. Finally, we will collect these interpretations succinctly, where we will also take the opportunity to mention possible lines of action or research that seem relevant as part of the effort to eradicate gender-based violence.
