Proyecto de creación "Wizard Editorial" editorial especializada en fotolibros LGTBI [lesbianas, gais transexuales, bisexuales e intersexuales]

Abstract

This Final Master Project proposes the creation of an editorial specialized in LGT-BI themed Photobooks (Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals, Bisexuals and Intersex).As an independent publisher, it seeks to offer publication opportunities to those new and established authors who carry out photographic projects with a LGTBI theme. It seeks to offer new paths to photographers, in addition to bringing the LGTBI work to all audiences and the community itself. Two very characteristic areas come together, on the one hand, photography as a means of expression and communication, and on the other, the group of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals, Bisexuals and Intersex, both with the aim of offering a new way of making pho-tographic content visible and to introduce new national and international artists and creators.Photography is a communicative tool and with it there is a need for authors to show their works, express their ideals and share their work with them. For this, there are different ways that allow carrying out this communicative concern. An example is the meetings for photographers such as the Arles Photography Fes-tival or the Albarracín Photography Seminar, which advocate a form of visual expression with very good acceptance. Another of the existing communication channels is the photobook that, with years of development, has become a new concept for photography collectors where images are the text and, as in any other book, contains a story to tell. One could say that one of the quintessential pho-tobooks would be “The Americans” by Robert Frank, in which, through her work, she provides a critical and personal vision of American society in the mid-20th century.With endless stories, themes, formats and content, the phenomenon of the pho-tobook is a very powerful product that this new publisher wants to exploit and de-velop to gain a foothold in the publishing world with LGTBI photographic content. In addition, with the completion of this new editorial, you want to select those pu-blications that are in line with corporate values, so that all the works to be edited have an egalitarian, inclusive and free message.

Este Trabajo de Fin de Máster plantea la creación de una editorial especializa-da en Fotolibros de temática LGTBI (Lesbianas, Gais, Transexuales, Bisexua-les e Intersexuales).Como editorial independiente se persigue ofrecer oportunidades de publicación a aquellos autores noveles y consagrados que realicen proyectos fotográficos con temática LGTBI. Con el fin de ofrecer nuevos caminos a fotógrafos, además de acercar la obra LGTBI a todos los públicos y a la propia comunidad. Se unen dos ámbitos muy característicos, por un lado, la fotografía como medio de expre-sión y comunicación, y por otro, el colectivo de Lesbianas, Gais, Transexuales, Bisexuales e Intersexuales, ambos con el objetivo de ofrecer una nueva forma de visibilizar contenidos fotográficos y dar a conocer nuevos artistas y creadores nacionales e internacionales. La fotografía es una herramienta comunicativa y también una forma de expresión artística y documental, por ello existe la necesidad de los autores de mostrar sus obras, expresar sus ideales y compartir con ellas su trabajo. Para ello existen diferentes caminos que permiten llevar a cabo esa inquietud comunicativa. Un ejemplo son los encuentros para fotógrafos como el Festival de Fotografía de Ar-les o el Seminario de Fotografía de Albarracín, los cuales abogan por una forma de expresión visual con muy buena aceptación. Otra de las vías comunicativas existentes es el fotolibro que, con años de desarrollo, se ha convertido en un nuevo concepto de coleccionistas de fotografía donde las imágenes son el texto y, como en cualquier otro libro, contiene una historia que contar. Se podría decir que uno de los fotolibros por excelencia sería “The Americans” de Robert Frank, en el que, mediante su obra, aporta una visión crítica y personal de la sociedad estadounidense de mediados del siglo XX. Con un sinfín de historias, temáticas, formatos y contenidos, el fenómeno del fotolibro es un producto muy potente que desde esta nueva editorial se quiere explotar y desarrollar para hacerse un hueco en el mundo editorial con contenido fotográfico LGTBI. Además, con la realización de esta nueva editorial, se desea seleccionar aquellas publicaciones que estén en consonancia con los valores corporativos, de forma que todas las obras a editar tengan un mensaje igualita-rio, inclusivo y libre.
