The banking system and its contribution to climate change

Abstract

The academic work to be carried out is a case study, it is composed of a review of the literature where the current problem being experienced with respect to climate change is exposed and a series of measures that have been created to combat them in the financial field, a methodology in which five banks operating in Spain are selected on the basis of their volume of managed assets, the creation of the indicators to be analysed in the banking sector and the definition of the degree of compliance with these indicators within the five banks, a results that show the degree of compliance with respect to the indicators analysed on the basis of the public information of the entities, and finally a discussion where the indicators with the worst results of the entities are presented and proposals to be improved by the companies to contribute to the improvement of the climate change are given.
