dc.description.abstract | Companies around the world are immersed in the continuous search of methods, plans or strategies that can help them achieve their goals by making the most of their resources and letting them stand out of their competitors, and in addition to that, companies are seeking for these methods to be profitable for the business, economically speaking. In the present Master’s Thesis, the author will present an example on how one of this improvement-seeker optimizing management tool: the Continuous Improvement Model, also known as Kaizen, can be applied in a company and, to be more specific, in a company belonging to the chemical sector as it is the case. On the other hand, while explaining the functioning of the Continuous Improvement Model, the present Master’s Thesis will also study the current situation of the chemical industry not only in Spain but also in the world. This will help understand the importance, most of the times not always visible or recognized, of the sector; above all, in the Valencian Community, where the company put as an example is based in. One of the purposes of the project is making the chemical sector visible in terms of position within the market and evaluating the degree of effectivity of the proposed management tool in a specific department of the exemplified company with an added challenge: applying this method during a period of global pandemics. Moreover, this Master’s Thesis will consider the limitations and setbacks that may have been encountered during the process and will aim at finding a relevant and justified conclusion to the ideas proposed at the commencement of the same, so an assessment can be made on the initial goals or objectives of the present Master’s Thesis. | ca_CA |
