dc.description.abstractThe objectives of the project are the synthesis of a substrate whose hydrolysis results in a fluorescent product that can be studied using fluorescence spectroscopy and CLSFM. More specifically, this study is based on the preparation of the substrate 8-acetoxypyrene-1,3,6-trisulfonate and the subsequent verification that the substrate is hydrolyzed, obtaining the fluorescent product through the use of the ImVal8 catalyst, which imitates the function of esterase enzymes. For this purpose, ImVal8 is synthesized following the procedure previously described in Dr. Beatriu Escuder's group.[7] In addition, the reaction conditions for catalysis must be optimizedca_CA
