Synthesis and characterization of ceramic pigments prepared from industrial residues based on perovskite and pyrochlore structures

Abstract

The main aim of this work will be the synthesis and characterization of ceramic pigments based on the pyrochlore and perovskite structures using reagents that contain lanthanide ions provided from a residue. The specific aims are: - Analysis of the waste provided by a company. - Synthesis of a ceramic pigment reusing the elements of which the waste is composed. - Application of the pigment in a ceramic glaze. For the realization of this work a company dedicated to the manufacture of certain inorganic materials has provided us with a residue, formed mostly by metal oxides, produced in the synthesis of one of its products in order to find a way to reuse this excess material.
