Financial comparison between la liga Santander and Valencia C.F.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to realize a comparison between the financial situation of the Spanish professional football sector (LaLiga Santander) and the financial situation of Valencia C.F. with the purpose of defining if the financial evolution presented by the company is similar to the sector’s evolution. To get this objective, the study, firstly, analyses the balance sheets and the profit and loss accounts of each one in a period of time of three seasons (2013/14-2016/17) and these annual accounts are used to calculate the principal financial ratios. Then, once calculated the financial ratios for LaLiga Santander and Valencia C.F., these ratios are compared to achieve the purpose. Finally, the conclusions of this study are deduced, so that it can see the financial comparison among this sector and the club.
