Implementation of good governance recommendations in the countries corporate governance codes

Abstract

International organizations as well as other consultancies prepare working papers in which includes recommendations for a good governance on the listed companies all over the world. From those recommendations, countries base their own codes for good governance practices. The objective of this final degree project is to investigate whether a selection of 12 recommendations for good governance practices are implemented in 10 codes from European countries. With this research, it is expected to conclude how many codes include all the recommendations, in which degree of depth or complexity a recommendations is develop, in which codes a recommendations is no mention or maybe it is partially mention, alongside the work an explication for each recommendation and its implementation in each country will be made in order to compare with the others codes. Finally a general conclusion will be made, including some limitations and possible new projects based in this work.
