Història de la taronja a Vila-real entre 1781 I 1939

Abstract

La història de la taronja compresa des de l'any 1781 al 1939 representa una decisiva aportació, amb caràcter de primícia, a l'estudi històric de l'economia citrícola, que és l'autèntic motor del desenvolupament valencià i principal que afecta positivament a l'economia de la localitat de Vila-real. Al llarg del treball d'investigació es tracta d'analitzar l'origen i difusió del cultiu i del comerç taronger, tant a la comunitat valenciana, entrant a Vila-real com també enxarxant-la a l'estat espanyol i fora d'ell, els seus períodes expansius i les seues crisis històriques, dedicant especial atenció a les estructures productives i comercials del sector, el coneixement és fonamental per comprendre els complexos mecanismes l'entramat sector taronger que es conjuga amb el coneixement dels problemes agrícoles i comercials dels cítrics. Per tant la proposta d'aquest treball és pretendre recuperar-la història de la taronja i part del seu patrimoni amb especialment èmfasi en la taronja a la localitat de Vila-real. D'aquesta manera incitar a reflexionar sobre la necessitat d'una política de preservació de la història amb la intenció de divulgar també el patrimoni perdut i reflexionar sobre l'època històrica i la importància social que va tindre.
