Afrontamiento y percepción de los estudiantes de enfermería en relación a la ansiedad y las fuentes de estrés en las prácticas clínicas

Abstract

Introduction: Nursing students take out clinical internships in the healthcare environment and they have to face some dangerous situations, will be important in this environment to develop the ability to perceive and assimilate sources of stress to promote an emotional growth aimed at professional development. Aims : Determine the stress sources of clinical practices and analyze the impact on students of the second, third and fourth year in the Nursery Degree of Jaume I University. Methodology: Mixed study with quantitative and qualitative analysis. Has been determined the different sources of stress that students may perceive in the internship through KEZKAK scale. The level of anxiety is measured by the STAI scale, and the use of coping measures, by COPE-28 scale. The determination of the student's perception about their function in the clinical environment, was valued by structured interviews until the saturation method is reached by the researcher. Results: Reliability is demonstrated between the KEZKAK scale and COPE-28 (Chisquared 0.037). Students' perception of their figure, determines the presence of a different sources of stress. Conclusions: The KEZKAK, STAI and COPE-28 scale are valid tools to evaluate the different sources of stress, anxiety levels and measures of stress Coping. There is a significant relationship between the KEZKAK scale and COPE-28.

Introducción: Los estudiantes de enfermería cursan con periodos de prácticas clínicas en el medio sanitario y deben enfrentarse a situaciones amenazantes, es de gran importancia desarrollar en el alumno la habilidad para percibir y asimilar las fuentes de estrés y promover un crecimiento emocional encaminado hacia el desarrollo profesional. Objetivos: Determinar las fuentes de estrés de las prácticas clínicas y analizar el impacto que tienen sobres los estudiantes de segundo, tercero y cuarto del Grado de Enfermería de la Universidad Jaume I. Metodología: Estudio mixto con un análisis cuantitativo y un análisis cualitativo. Se determinan las diferentes fuentes de estrés que los estudiantes pueden percibir en el periodo de prácticas mediante el uso de la escala KEZKAK. El grado de ansiedad del estudiante se mide mediante la escala STAI, y el uso de medidas de afrontamiento, mediante la escala COPE-28. La determinación de la percepción que tiene el alumno en cuanto a su figura en el entorno clínico, se valoró mediante diversas entrevistas estructuradas hasta alcanzar el método de saturación por parte del investigador. Resultados: Se demuestra fiabilidad entre la escala KEZKAK y COPE-28 (Chicuadrado=0,037). La percepción que tienen los estudiantes respecto a su figura, determina la presencia de diversas fuentes de estrés. Conclusiones: La escala KEZKAK, STAI y COPE-28 son herramientas válidas y sensibles para evaluar las fuentes de estrés, niveles de ansiedad y medidas de afrontamiento. Existe una relación significativa entre la escala KEZKAK y COPE-28.
