¿POR QUÉ TODOS DEBERÍAMOS SER FEMINISTAS? CHIMAMANDA NGOZI ADICHIE Y EL FEMINISMO GLOBAL

Abstract

En este artículo se analizará Todos deberíamos ser feministas (2015) de Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie considerándolo un ensayo adecuado para ser estudiado en las aulas. Será analizado basándonos en la experiencia de debatir acerca de él en el ámbito universitario y se compararán los principios que defende con los del feminismo interseccional de Kimberlé Crenshaw (1989) y defendido por bell hooks en El feminismo es para todo el mundo (2000). Finalmente, partiendo del feminismo de Adichie, se propondrá lo que denominaremos feminismo global con el objetivo de dar uso a un término nuevo que responda a las necesidades actuales en la agenda de la igualdad.

In this article We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (2015) will be analyzed considering it an appropriate essay to be studied in the classroom. It will be criticized considering our experience debating about it at the University and the principles it defends related to those of intersectional feminism by Kimberlé Crenshaw (1989) and supported by bell hooks in Feminism is For Everybody (2000). Finally, starting from Adichie’s feminism, we will propose what we will call global feminism with the objective using a new term that responds to the current needs in the equality agenda
