This paper is about teaching pragmatics challenging the traditional methods
used in education. The need to teach speech acts, specifically apologies, has
developed the creation of a teaching proposal. The implementation of
technology in education has taken a huge importance for the design of this
project. The teaching proposal presented in this paper has been created for 15-16
years old Spanish students. Students’ L2 is English. This teaching proposal
advocates for teaching students how to apologize by using technological
devices. A tool called Edmodo is used to present the different activities. In this
virtual classroom, students will find the instructions to follow the lessons. The
activities chosen are about language awareness, language recognition and
language production. The activities are motivational and engage students with
language and, in this case, with learning apologies. Finally, in the present study,
certain limitations have also been taken into account for future research. [-]
