The Importance of Storytelling on Communicative Events: Ted Talks Conferences

Abstract

Over the course of the human communicative history, the storytelling process represented an important contributing factor in order to conform and convey different meanings, normally, not exempted of different determined purposes. Nowadays, presumably substantiated and sustentated on the effectiveness and the efficiency of the storytelling process in order to influence collectives and individuals by establishing connections among them, the storytelling process is still present at almost every stage of human communicative competences (Duarte, 2013). In the present document, the prime concern is to, theoretically, analyze, compare and evaluate the storytelling process and the integration of the different strategies and techniques comprised and entailed within based on a corpus of different communicative events: Ted Talks conferences.
